i would like to imagine that after machete dies, vasco starts collecting red things. red, like the soles of machetes shoes and the hems of his cassocks, the front of his nightgowns after a heavy nosebleed. or maybe he collects pink things, like machete's nose and ears and paw pads, or things white like his fur. he never collects anything black, however. red like the hems but never black like the fabric. black is too sad. it's grief, it's unfathomable loss and it means admitting machete is actually gone, stolen from the world. but ludovica is there, and she indulges his collections in little ways on the occasion. it's a small comfort, her love for her husband in their lavender way.
.
#whh#why must you wound me like this anon#coming to my inbox and saying this to my face like it's nothing#/j#no I do love this headcanon#especially since red and pink are practically absent from Vasco's intended color scheme#red is Machete's theme color and his personal favorite in-universe#but it's also sort of a symbol of his ambition and obsession with his career which eventually got him trapped and led to his demise#so even though I believe Vasco finds him dashing in red he would also feel attached to pale pinks and whites#because if you strip Machete of his red and black work persona that's what's left#and I'd imagine moments like those are what he cherishes the most#answered#anonymous#Vaschete scenarios#Ludovica ;o;#I love her I need to draw her again >:T

Being sweet is fake...? Does that mean Yuka thinks she's fake, too? She said all that while smiling. Was all that talking they did together also...?
Yeah, of course. No one had ever genuinely liked her before, so it was obvious Yuka also didn't. She didn't know why she let herself feel like she did, for any amount of time.

Rick grimes x reader who’s a badass Walker killer but afraid of spiders and it’s funny to Rick. Do with that what you will 😁
Rick feels his heart stop when he hears your shriek from across Alexandria. Every drop of blood in his body freezes in place. His abdomen turns to stone and falls through the ground beneath his feet.
You screamed like somebody was hacking into you with a machete at this very moment. Before he knows what’s happening, he’s dashing down the road. His legs carry him back to the house on auto-pilot. He bursts through the front door so fast, it practically flies off the hinges.
He already had his gun drawn. He sweeps through the house like in the old days back when he was officer friendly. Eyes scan the halls, looking for where you might be. Then another wail from you answers that question.
“Rick!”
“I’m coming. Just hold on.”
He launches himself into the kitchen, ready to find a walker, or even worse, some person with a blade to your neck.
But he finds neither of those. Instead you leap over to him, throwing your arms around his neck and nearly scaling his body.
“Woah, woah, woah. What’s wrong?” he asks urgently, “Are you hurt or something?”
“There’s a really big spider on the counter,” you whimper against his throat.
He blinks in disbelief. You had to be joking. There was no way you’d got him so worked up like that over a spider.
But then he sees a moderately sized, hairy, eight-legged arachnid crawling across the granite and he knows you’re telling the truth.
A deep sigh seeps from his lungs. He pries your limbs off of him and heads over there. Quick as can be, he grabs a cup and places it atop the creature. He turns to you, unable to hide the annoyance in his gaze.
“A spider?” he echoes.
You scoff and sputter in defense of yourself. “A really big one.”
“Mhm,” he hums and brushes it up before tossing it out the back door. “Don’t scare me like that again.”
Your look softens, body blooming with warmth as you realize he’d been all ready to protect you from whatever danger he pictured nearby. You prance over and kiss his scruffy cheek. As irritated as he was, he still doesn’t rebuff the affection.
“I’ll make it up to you later?” you offer with a little smile.
“You better. Nearly gave me a heart attack,” he says and returns the peck to your lips. “You kill walkers every single day, but you’re telling me a spider crosses the line?”
“The mind works in mysterious ways, Rick,” you say with feigned seriousness.
“I’m sure yours does. I’ll see you tonight, baby,” he says, giving you a firm pat on the ass before taking his leave.

Summary: The tranquil existence was shattered today by the merciless pirates. You surrendered to the overwhelming tide of despair, letting it engulf you. Yet, in that moment of darkness, a figure emerged to rescue you. But is this hero a beacon of hope or a harbinger of doom?
The golden rays of the morning sun filter through the window, warming your face as you rise. Just like every other day, you gather your belongings and step outside, exchanging friendly greetings with the neighbors before unlocking the door to the café right on schedule.
All is as it should be.
"Good morning, Y/N!" called out a familiar voice. It was a middle-aged man, a loyal customer who always ordered the same sandwich without fail.
"Morning!" you replied, already moving with practiced ease to prepare his breakfast.
"How're you doing?"
"Fine I guess."
"It's good to hear." He sighed. "Did you hear the news? Pirates have been causing quite a stir lately.
"Yeah… all we can do is hope they steer clear of our town."
"Let's hope so." He smirked helplessly. "Maybe I should just pack up and find a new place."
"Pack up? Where?"
"I'm not sure, just anywhere that feels safe." He shrugged. "What about you? Aren't you thinking of moving?"
"I wish I could. But, you know… my funds are pretty tight."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine. Here's your sandwich."
"Thanks." He settled the bill and walked out, leaving you alone in the café.
Just as you turned around to tidy up the table, a loud shock caught you off guard.
"Run!!" The once tranquil town erupted into chaos, and you peered out the window, heart racing with dread. Tons of men wielding a machete swung their weapons menacingly, demanding that the terrified residents surrender their belongings. The air was filled with desperate cries and frantic screams as people scattered in every direction.
Without a moment's hesitation, you dashed to the door, but just as you reached for the lock, a group of men burst in, kicking the door wide open. You stumbled to the floor, mortified, and before you could regain your footing to fight back, one of the men seized you roughly.
"Let go of me, you scoundrel!" you shouted, thrashing against his grip, but the pirate's hand clamped down on your wrist like a vice.
"Shut your mouth, you wench!" he barked. The ship rocked violently beneath you as you were dragged onto the deck, your struggles futile against the chains that bound you. The laughter of the pirates echoed around you as they shoved you aside. Helpless, you watched in horror as the small shop you had poured your heart into was ransacked, the townsfolk fleeing in terror, and the once vibrant community fell into an eerie stillness.
"Hey, see this baby girl~how cute you are!" " "Leave me alone, you filthy scum!" Your voice quivered with a mix of fear and defiance as you glared at the pirate who had captured you.
One of them, should be the captain, a cruel smirk playing on his lips, approached you with a lecherous gleam in his eyes. "A feisty one, aren't you? We'll see how long that lasts," he sneered, his breath reeking of rum and malice. "Set sail!"
As the boat glides farther into the distance, the town gradually fades from view. The lively chatter of vendors hawking their wares in the bustling market is replaced by the lingering echoes of laughter that grate on your nerves. The salty sea air stung your eyes as you struggled against the chains that bound you to the wooden post.
Tsk…
The crashing waves echoed around you, a constant reminder of your precarious situation.
Frantic escape ideas raced through your mind. Yet, you were a land dweller, and diving into the ocean means dying. What options do you have? Can you really call out for someone to rescue you? Here you are, in the heart of the sea—who could—
"Turn left!!!!!It's ATEEZ's ship!!" A loud cry jolted you from your thoughts. Just as you were about to grasp the situation, everything unfolded before your eyes. A deafening roar erupted from the left side of the ship, causing it to lurch violently and sending terror through the crew. The sturdy vessel splintered, hurling pirates overboard, and you tumbled into the frigid sea.
The icy water enveloped you, and you fought to break the surface, but the ocean constricted your breath and drained your strength. As despair set in, you surrendered to the darkness. Just then, strong arms seized you, pulling you upward. Your vision blurred, obscuring your savior's identity, and consciousness slipped away.
—---
Coughing violently, you expelled the salty seawater that had filled your mouth. Your breaths came in rapid gasps, a primal instinct driving you to inhale as if the very air might slip away. As clarity returned, you realized that you were still aboard the vessel... but the faces of the crew surrounding you seemed unfamiliar.
"Are you awake?" A gentle voice broke through the haze, and you turned to see a man clad in a flowing white robe, his expression warm and reassuring.
"Where... am I?" you managed to whisper, your voice barely above a breath.
"A ship, obviously," Yunho replied. "You fell into the sea and Jongho saved you."
The vivid image of the recent attack flickered on the screen, and a wave of dread washed over you as you gazed at the man standing before you. ATEEZ, you recalled, infamous for their ruthless piracy. What would they do? Would they end your life? But then again, why would they bother to rescue you?
"It's perfectly normal to feel a bit disoriented right now. It's a common reaction after being submerged in water..." The man's voice, surprisingly calm, began to ease the tension in your chest. Perhaps they weren't as terrifying as the tales suggested? Still, you knew better than to let your guard down.
"Is she alright?" At that moment, Hongjoong gently knocked and opened the door. His striking features made your heart race. Despite your reluctance to admit it, he was undeniably handsome, far from the "demon" the stories painted him to be.
"Yah, she is just a bit frightened," Yunho said as he rose to his feet, and Hongjoong nodded, his gaze remained fixed on you.
"What's your name, lady?"
"Y/N..."
"I'm Hongjoong, the captain. This is Yunho, our doctor." You nodded as he continued, "I'm sorry for your fall into the sea. It was indeed our attack that caused the ship you were on to sink."
"No... I owe you my gratitude. You were the ones who saved me."
He shrugged with a warm smile. "Just take some time to rest, and we'll arrange for you to be taken to the nearest town."
You nodded, and they stepped out, leaving you to gather your thoughts. You stumbled out of bed, your feet heavy as you made your way to the door, only to be met with the murmur of several men outside.
You stumbled out of bed, your feet heavy as you made your way to the door, only to be met with the murmur of several men outside.
"What is the captain thinking? Bringing a woman aboard?"
"Exactly! This is bound to bring us misfortune!"
"Or maybe he plans to trade her? She's not too shabby, after all..."
"But I heard she's being sent to other towns."
"Is it really that straightforward?"
You clamped a hand over your mouth, panic rising within you, tears welling in your eyes as your heart raced. They were clearly not good men. But what could you do? Escape? That was out of the question. How could you prove to them that you wouldn't bring them bad luck? It was easy to say, but how could you actually do it? Just as your mind spiraled into chaos, loud voices broke through your thoughts.
"Why are we having abura soba again?" Hongjoong grumbled.
"Because they're delicious," Yunho replied.
"That's excessive, don't you think?" Hongjoong shot back. "I eat abura soba five days a week!"
"Is that a problem? The crew loves it," Wooyoung chimed in as he knocked on your door. When you opened it, he stood there with a steaming bowl of noodles.
"Hey there, Y/N, right? Here, if you don't mind, I made this for you," Wooyoung said, placing the bowl on your table. "I'm Wooyoung, by the way."
"Thank you," you replied, your voice barely above a whisper. Though you were wary of possible poison, your hunger overpowered your caution. You took a bite, and to your surprise, it was delicious. Before long, the bowl was empty, and you watched as the others busied themselves with cleaning up.
"Hey, Y/N," Wooyoung approached you, balancing several bowls in his hands. "Are you done? You can hand the bowl back to me."
"Oh, it's fine. Let me help you. You look a bit worn out."
"Thanks, I appreciate it." You joined him in gathering bowls and chopsticks, following him to the kitchen. As you walked, you took in your surroundings, contemplating your next move... perhaps earning their trust was the best strategy for survival, at least for now.
As you stepped into the kitchen, you noticed Hongjoong frantically working on something, clearly in a rush.
"Hey, hyung. Just try not to shatter the bowl again," Wooyoung remarked, already scrubbing the dishes.
"I won't," Hongjoong replied, but his next words nearly sent the bowl tumbling.
"Um… are you going to lend him a hand?" you whispered to Wooyoung.
"Nope. I'm busy. Maybe you should go see what he's up to."
With that, you approached Hongjoong cautiously. This could be a perfect chance to earn his trust.
"Hongjoong?"
"Yah?"
"Do you need any help?" You glanced at the mess on the table, where he was clumsily beating eggs.
"No, I'm good. Oh no!"
You quickly caught the bowls and chopsticks as they teetered, relieved they didn't break.
"Hmm… if you're okay with it, I could cook something up for you."
"Really?"
"I actually work as a cook."
"Ah, so you're just like Wooyoung."
"I guess so. What do you feel like eating?"
"Just not abura soba, please." You grinned and nodded. "And I'm not a fan of vegetables."
"Got it."
You set to work with the ingredients spread out on the table, whipping up the dishes you know best while ensuring the table remains neat. Before long, your masterpiece was complete. You entered the dining hall, cradling a bowl of fragrant soup. Hongjoong stood tall, his eyes widening at the sight of you.
"Oh wow! That smells so good!" he exclaimed, quickly blowing on the noodles before digging in. "This is absolutely delicious!" A sense of pride swelled within you as you witnessed his joy, a reminder of why you chose the culinary path.
"Perhaps you should be my personal chef," he joked, a playful smirk on his lips. You smile back, taking his words lightly, fully aware that you won't be staying long here.
Hongjoong seemed to relax a bit, his shoulders dropping slightly as he savored each bite, his eyes closed in blissful contentment.
"I can't believe I've never had anything like this before," he said, opening his eyes to meet yours with a newfound appreciation. "You really are talented."
You blushed slightly, grateful for the compliment. "Thank you, Hongjoong. It's just something I enjoy doing."
As you sat down across from him, Wooyoung wandered in, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Hey, what's going on here? Did I miss the party?"
"Just having a nice meal," Hongjoong replied, gesturing to the now half-empty bowl in front of him.
Wooyoung's expression softened, a hint of surprise crossing his face. "Can I have a taste?"
"Nope. That's mine."
Hongjoong immediately finished them all, not letting Wooyoung eat.
"Yah!Hyung!" "Who told you not to help me?"
You chuckled, watching them quarreling playfully. It appeared that this was part of their everyday life. From this viewpoint, they were completely disconnected from any notion of evil.
In the days that followed, it felt as if you had stepped into the role of Hongjoong's personal chef. Initially, he continued to enjoy Wooyoung's meals, but he would occasionally drop hints that your cooking was just as delightful. Eventually, you took the plunge and prepared a dish just for him, hoping to win his trust. The joy on his face was infectious; he began to request your cook regularly, and soon, even some of the crew members were intrigued by your skills.
Cooking for them brought you immense joy, as their satisfaction filled you with happiness. Over time, your initial apprehension faded, and the thought of leaving began to slip from your mind. The idea of visiting the nearby town seemed to vanish. Yet, in recent days, Hongjoong's demeanor shifted, making you reconsider your plans.
Did you do something to upset him? How could you make up for him? You worried about whether you would be killed for this? No. What you were concerned about was what if Hongjoong didn't like you?
He had grown somewhat distant, his warmth replaced by a chill that left you unsettled. This was especially evident when you were in the kitchen with Wooyoung; his coldness bordered on anger. Today was no different.
"Are you alright, Y/N? You look a bit pale," Wooyoung asked, concern etched on his face.
"Just feeling a little under the weather..." you replied with a bittersweet smile, though the cramping in your abdomen made it hard to stand. You suspected the long days at sea and the cold had taken a toll on your body. "Hiss..."
"Maybe you should take a break?" "But I want to make some food for Hongjoong…" You winced, wanting to refuse and continue helping in the kitchen, but the pain rendered your limbs weak, making cooking impossible.
"Nah. You should go back to your room."
"But what if he didn't like me?"
"Huh?"
"I mean…he may hate me if I don't cook for him."
"He wouldn't think so.
"But…"
"No. Just go take a rest, okay? I can handle." Wooyoung stopped you. "Can you walk?"
"I think so?" In reality, each step felt like a monumental challenge.
"Let me help you." Wooyoung took your hand and supported your shoulders, a moment that caught Hongjoong's eye.
"What are you doing?" he approached, anger flashing in his eyes, but as he noticed the pain etched on your face, his expression shifted. "What's wrong? Are you okay, Y/N?"
"She's sick." Wooyoung said.
"I'm not asking you."
Wooyoung rolled his eyes playfully, knowing Hongjoong was jealous.
"So now I will send her to her room."
"No." Hongjoong pulled you to his arms carefully. "I will send her and you cook."
"Okay, okay."
—----
"Do you need any medicine?" Hongjoong inquired as he gently laid you down on the bed. "Or should I call Yunho for assistance?"
"Actually..." you winced, the pain making your words slow. "It's just period cramps."
"Oh... umm... would something warm help? Maybe hot water?"
You nodded, and he quickly dashed out to fetch a cup of steaming water.
"Here, be careful." He supported your back as you sat up, handing you the warm cup.
"Thank you." You took a sip, feeling the soothing warmth spread through you. It wasn't just the hot water; it was Hongjoong's tender care that made your heart flutter. You couldn't deny the twinge of sadness when he seemed distant. You longed for his smile and the sweet words he used to share. Unbeknownst to you, your feelings for him were already blossoming.
"Do you need more?" As you lifted your gaze, you noticed how close he was, causing a blush to creep onto your cheeks. "No, it's okay."
Hongjoong smiled softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he noticed your embarrassment. "Alright, but let me know if you need anything else. I'm here for you."
"Thank you," you replied with a nod. "But Wooyoung really needs to step up; he's in charge of everyone's lunch."
Hongjoong feigned a cough as he plopped down beside you, irritation evident in his voice. "It's no big deal; he's used to it. You shouldn't worry about him." You stifled a laugh—wasn't he just a tad envious?
"Nope. Everyone seems to be eating a lot more these days," you teased, enjoying the playful banter as his jealousy was unmistakable.
"Why are you so concerned about him? Do you have a crush on him?" His question took you by surprise, and it seemed to catch him off guard too. "Ugh, forget it."
"Does it bother you who I like?" You asked. His cheeks flushed a deep red, and he quickly averted his gaze.
"No, it's not that," Hongjoong stammered, his eyes darting around the room as if searching for an escape route. "It's just…I didn't expect you to be interested in him. He's always been so…carefree and unpredictable."
I once had a crush, but it wasn't on Wooyoung. A soft chuckle escaped your lips as a warm sensation blossomed in your chest. After inhaling deeply, you were prepared to share your truth. "Hongjoong… there's something special about what I feel… when you're near, my heart starts to race. I think I might be falling for you."
"Seriously?" Your confession surprised him, and a shy yet joyful smile spread across his face. "Were you just teasing me?"
"Not at all. I would never lie about how I feel."
He leaned in closer, his eyes searching yours for any sign of jest. The sincerity in your tone echoed through the room, and the tension between you seemed to dissolve. Hongjoong's hand, which had been resting on the bedsheets, gently brushed against yours, and you didn't pull away.
"I never thought... I mean, I've always been there for you, but I never expected..." He trailed off, searching for the right words.
"Expected what?" You prompted, a hint of vulnerability creeping into your voice.
Hongjoong looked down, his fingers entwining with yours. "I never imagined that you would see me as more than just a friend. I've always admired you, from afar, but I never dared to dream that you felt the same way."
A smile tugged at the corners of your lips, and you leaned in, closing the small gap between you.
"I think I like you, too." Hongjoong's expression softened, and he pulled you closer, wrapping his arms around you. It was a gentle, comforting embrace that spoke volumes of the feelings he had been holding back.
"Thank you," he whispered, his breath warm against your ear. "I've been waiting for this moment for so long. I'm glad you feel the same way."
Smiling, you gave him a nod after a gazing. Without hesitation, he leaned in, pressing his lips against yours, catching you by surprise, but you quickly melted into the kiss.
As you lay back on the bed, he hovered over you, the kiss unbroken. He was tender and cautious, as if he feared making you uneasy.
"I have a good way to reduce the period pain." He settled your hand on his cheek, giving a peck on that. "Do you wanna give it a try?"
You knew what he meant and what he wanted to do. Of course, you wanted to, too.
"Please."
"Wait for a while." He pecked at you after leaving for a towel and condom. Placing the towel under your thighs, he then lifted up your dress to slide down your panties.
"I love you, y/n." He towered you, pulling out his cock from his panties. He reached out, his fingers gently tracing the contours of your cheek, as if committing your beauty to memory. You closed your eyes, a soft sigh escaping your lips, inviting him closer.
Their lips met in a kiss that was at once tender and passionate, filled with a longing that had been building for what felt like an eternity. He guided his member to your entrance, which was already wrapped up in a condom, then slowly eased into you.
You moaned out as you broke the kiss, the sensation of being filled up was weird you could say. Hongjoong, same as you, felt a little bit uneasy because of your sticky blood.
"It hurts…" A deep frown creased your forehead as the familiar grip of menstrual pain returned. Watching you suffer, Hongjoong's heart ached with sorrow. He lingered, allowing your pain to fade gradually, before he began to move in and out. His rhythm matched the tenderness of his kisses, a blend of softness and intensity.
You wrapped your arms around his shoulder, allowing him to go deeper. His cock could easily reach your sensitive spot thanks to your blood. Settling your legs around his waist, he rolled his hips at a steady pace.
"Shit, it feels good." "Hongjoong…" "It's okay, love." His head landed in your neck, dropping a broken kiss on that. It began with a gentle brush of lips against the warm, smooth skin, a tentative exploration that sent shivers down your spine. He deepened his kiss as he started to rush, his lips lingering softly on the curve of the neck as well as his thick cock─grazing your hot wall deliciously as he moved back and forth.
"Joong…it's…fuck…"His hard tip suddenly hit your sweet spot, making you whole body squirm and let out a shy moan. "Here?" He hit it again, you couldn't help but tighten your wall. The wave of excitement rushed throughout your body each time he collided with it. You loved it.
"Please, joong. I need more." "As you wish, baby girl." He lifted up his hips, withdrawing his cock until only his tip inside you, then shoving back with a great force. You arched your back, opening your mouth for better breathing. The crash he made caused you to run out of oxygen.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" He fucked you so fast and hit the same spot dead on. All the heat gathered in your lower core and formed a knot. Pain?It was already faded away and instead by your climax. Your wall clenched his cock, urging him to bring you to the edge. He picked up his pace, panting heavily and letting out a throaty moan.
Your legs were placed on his shoulder, oh, he went so deep. He sat up straight, grabbing your knees and pushed into your wetness. The noise from outside faded away, leaving only the rapid thumping of your heart and the skin slapping sound, drowning out the chaos beyond. His ball hit your ass each time his tip reached the deepest, making you groan without care.
His hand found his way to your collar, pulling it down to explode your fine chest. He pushed up your bra, squeezing your breast hard while teasing your nipple, earning a shy chuckle from your lips. "Gotta taste you." He leaned down to suck your nipple, his tongue licked everywhere he could reach.
The double excitement made you spin. There was nothing left but only the kissing sound and the skin slapping sound bouncing off the wall.
"I'm so close." He huffed, his thrust lost its rhythm as he found the way to peak. You, too. After a few thrust and a long throaty moan, both of you came. "Goodness." Your embrace tightened as you two didn't want to leave. Catching his breath, he pecked at your cheek before removing.
"Am I right?Does it hurt now?" He asked, a grin played on his lips.
"No." You shook your head. "Thank you." You gazed into each other's eyes, their faces flushed with the aftermath of their intimacy.
"Hey, I made lunch." Wooyoung suddenly knocked on your door, giving you two shocks. "But I think you two are full now?"
"No…ugh…we'll eat later." Hongjoong stammered.
"Alright. You two will be hungry for sure especially after an intense team sport!" Wooyoung teased.
"Shut up!Wooyoung!Leave!"
"Okay, okay~Call me if you need more condoms."
"I'll just kill you, you asshole!"
Ah…it was so embarrassing.

okay so i saw this tiktok and immediately said 'but what if steddie?' so here you go!
Steve honestly can't believe he let Robin convince him to go to this goddamn haunted house...attraction...thing.
He also can't believe that they somehow got separated. Them! The two peas in a pod who share the same braincell!
Now he's wandering the place alone, and in the goddamn dark. Following whatever sparks of light he can find, though he knows that's just gonna lead him to more scares.
'and to the exit, Dingus.' Robin's voice says in his head.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm almost out of here anyway, right?" he says aloud to no one.
"Wrong you are, pretty boy." a husky voice says into his ear from the dark, and Steve's running.
Running, running, running, somehow not tripping over shit in the dark, just letting his instincts take him wherever they want while some freak in a mask and wielding a machete follows close behind, cackling all the while.
The thing also says things like, "They're so much sweeter when fear courses through their veins!" and "The pretty ones always die first, that's why I'm still around." each followed by more unhinged cackles.
Finally, Steve turns a corner to find blinding light. Well, blinding to the rest of the place at least.
A steady light comes from a lantern beside a chainlink gate. He dashes to it, thinking its salvation, only to find a blank black wall behind it.
It was only another set piece.
"Oh fuck."
"Hello sweet thing,"
Steve spins, pressing his back against the fence behind him, heart hammering through his whole body.
The creature, in a bloody pig mask, as Steve can see now, chuckles hoarsely when he comes around the corner..and in the way of the only exit.
"Oh, fuck."
"Oh darling, there won't be time for any of that, now will there?"
Steve registers everything he can about the thing as it stalks closer. He's about Steve's height, slighter in build from the legs he can see under the ratty gown thing he wears, and he's immediately got a plan.
"You would look so sweet under me, though, wouldn't you?"
Damn, this guys' been flirting with him this whole time. Weird, unhinged haunted house flirting, but flirting nonetheless.
Another piece of the plan slots into place.
"C'mon darling, why so quiet? Lemme hear those screa---"
The thing surges forward, machete raised, so Steve shoots out an arm, catching his wrist and gripping tight.
With the other, he shoves at the thing's shoulder and spins them, pinning it against the metal fence with a clang.
Finally, Steve sets his moves to stun; dropping the thing's arm and using both hands to lift the plastic pig mask up over the actor's face, everything slows to a crawl.
Steve takes in the face of the actor pinned under him in a split second. He's just about the same age as Steve, with long dark hair that frizzes out under the lip of the mask where it's caught between it and his face. His face, thoroughly sweaty and flushed from chasing people around all night, is looking up at him in shock with big dark eyes and...holy shit..
Is it ethical to fall in love at first sight at a haunted house? With the thing guy that was chasing you?
Time speeds up again and Steve surges forward this time, locking his hands along the man's jaw instead of on the mask, letting it fall down onto his face as he kisses him.
Deep, quick, and with a quick flash of tongue before he's spinning and racing back out the way he came, this time being lucky enough to find the exit along a path he had taken the wrong fork in last time.
"Holy shit, Steve! There you are! What happened??" Robin catches him as he clambers though the curtain covered exit.
"I..." he takes a deep breath, holding himself up by his knees "I fell in love."
ehehehe there's a part 2 to this :o)
#then they come back after the attraction is closed so steve can get eddie's number#and also his name lmao#steddie#steve harrington#eddie munson#st drabble#st#stranger things#noelle writes#i love that vid tho#bro was gagged AND gooped

Oh No, He's Hot! (Jason Voorhees x M. Reader)
Summary: What m/n believed would be a rather simple job has him encountering a masked murderer named Jason. But, oh no, why does m/n feel weirdly attracted to the dominant man?
M/n didn't know what he expected when his friends urged him to apply to become a camp counselor for the newly, about to be opened, Camp Crystal Lake. Poison ivy, yes, fallen tree trunks, sure, but a 6 ft 5 masked man chasing him around with a machete, no. Having left his friends (because who would stick together when death was knocking on the door?), m/n ran through the dark campsite before noticing a decrepit-looking cabin ahead. Looking behind for any sight of the man, m/n opened the door before locking it behind him.
The room was dark, with a tiny twin bed in the corner, and no source of light nearby. Controlling his breathing so as to not attract the murderer, m/n just hoped Jason (if that was even his name) found entertainment in killing another camp counselor and forgot all about him.
M/n should've listened to the townspeople who warned him that the camp was a lost cause, that camp blood was inhabited by a monster, but m/n (like the dummy he is) waved them off. Well, now guess who was regretting doing that? Yeah, this guy.
"Huh." m/n mumbled, noticing that the cabin was rather stocked with supplies. Inching closer, m/m crouched to inspect the ground, noticing tiny bones formed into a pile. "Well, shit." Those were animal bones—meaning that this cabin was, more than likely, Jason's hideout.
Quietly scrambling back to the front door, m/n was about to return to the forest when heavy footsteps began inching towards the door. Knowing the weight didn't belong to any of his friends, m/n looked around for a hiding spot before the door was ripped open, revealing Jason. Letting out a scream, m/n instinctively ducked to the side, narrowly missing the swing of the machete. Knowing the murderer blocked his only exit, m/n knew he had to somehow disarm or disorientate Jason.
Adrenaline coursing through his veins, he scanned the room for anything that could serve as a makeshift weapon. Bingo. Noticing a heavy wooden chair nearby, m/n grabbed it and immediately swung it towards Jason's head. Celebrating as the man stumbled back, m/n made a dash for the open door and began running. However, it didn't take long before he felt a powerful force slamming into his back, sending him sprawling forward. "Oww..." m/n whispered, when his face connected with the ground, and a line of blood obscured his vision. Just great, he somehow managed to cut himself.
Forcibly turned unto his back, m/n watched as Jason bent down and gripped his neck. M/n's world seemed to spin. The pressure on his neck tightened, and he felt the air being slowly squeezed out of his lungs. Panic surged through him, but to his surprise, a strange sensation overcame the fear. Instead of pleading for mercy, an involuntary moan escaped his lips.
Curiosity and confusion could be seen in Jason's eyes while observing the male's response. The moans of pleasure, rather than cries of pain or pleas for mercy, were entirely new territory for the infamous killer. To ensure it wasn't a fluke, Jason tightened his grip once more, only to be met with another round of apparent pleasure from m/n.
"Didn't expect this, huh?" m/n wheezed, his words carrying a hint of both amusement and disbelief. The encounter had taken an unexpected turn, leaving both survivor and killer in uncharted territory. Jason's hold disappeared, and m/n, though slightly shaken, quickly stood on his feet. He looked at Jason. Really looked.
Besides the whole murder aspect, Jason was handsome. And yes, m/n knew he would be considered crazy for admitting such a fact, but the man did have some appeal—his bulky, muscular form for one. Still staring at one another, m/n let out a chuckle.
"So are you going to kill me or...."
Before he could finish his sentence, Jason, emerging from his trance-like state, turned the machete so the handle could be seen. In a swift and unexpected motion, the handle of the machete swung over m/n's head, connecting with a solid impact. The woods briefly echoed with the sound, and m/n crumpled to the ground, consciousness slipping away.
This was a perfect opportunity for Jason to kill the man, but something held him back. Securing his machete to his belt, Jason, instead, lifted m/n from the ground and stalked back to his cabin.
Gently laying the male on the bed, Jason retrieved a cool of rope before skillfully bounding m/n's hands and feet to the bedposts. Ensuring there were no other exits besides the front door, Jason, with a stoic determination, left the cabin. The night was still young, and as Jason ventured into the darkness, his elusive silhouette vanished into the shadows.

A Unicorn Hair Rope
Danny Phantom x Gravity Falls Crossover
Part 1 (Read for this to make sense)
Masterpost
DP Crossover Angst Week Day 7 - Captured by the characters of a different media
Summary: Dipper and Ford give chase, intent to take Danny down before he can hurt anyone else.
Warnings: near panic attack, it/its pronouns used for Danny by Ford
Notes: I've decided the story takes place between the GF episodes “The Last Mabelcorn” and “Dipper and Mabel vs. The Future”, so Bill is a known and acknowledged mutual threat, but not yet able to start Weirdmageddon.
Word Count: 3109
AO3 link
Grunkle Ford was on a warpath, and Dipper was helpless to stop it. The mad dash from the gas station to back to the Mystery Shack was enough to leave him breathless for several minutes, and gave Ford enough time to devolve into a frenzy of preparation and catastrophizing. Dipper could barely keep up with Ford’s ramblings, the very little of it that made sense to him at least. There was too little that made sense, and his Grunkle was not giving him any sort of explanation or at least letting him mentally catch up.
“Grunkle Ford!” Dipper shouted, finally both catching his breath, and Ford’s attention. “Explain what’s going on!”
Ford paused for a minute, before taking in a deep breath, as if he hadn’t been breathing, before leveling a tense, worried glance at Dipper, before returning to work at a much more controlled pace.
“That boy, or well, what’s possessing him, is dangerous beyond belief,” Ford started, sinking into one of the chairs scattered about his lab.
“There are many beings across many different dimensions, but there are some that exist between dimensions. Spirits, ghosts, even gods. But they can’t exist on the physical planes very long, due to the amount of energy they need. If this one has been here for months, then something is very wrong. I honestly doubt there’s much left of the boy it’s been using as a vessel. We need to find it, and exorcise it before it can cause more damage.”
Dipper blinked owlishly, processing for a second before it hit him, “You want to exorcise a god?”
“I doubt it’s actually a god, more likely a spirit of some sort, or simply a powerful ghost. Either way, the same methods will work no matter what it is. Though I fear it’s too late for the boy, he’s as good as dead,” Ford explained while answering nothing.
“What?!” It was Dipper’s turn to panic.
“They’re not meant for this plane, they need a host of some sort to stay for any extended period. No wonder that boy looked ill enough to be confused for a vampire. But with the way their blood has been mixed, there’s no separating them now. Best get it in its current vessel, while it’s weakening.”
“If… If there’s no separating them, then why do we have to go after him?” Dipper asked.
The… spirit guy hadn’t done anything. Dipper already felt horrible about the entire situation. There were plenty of magical creatures already living in Gravity Falls, he didn’t see why they had to go after this one in particular.
Ford gave Dipper a look that was likely intended to be sympathetic. “After this vessel fails, it will go after another, it has to. Even if it ‘doesn’t do anything’, that doesn’t mean it’s harmless. It’s already taken at least one life, best not let it get another,” Ford paused, taking out the machete, scraping the multi-colored blood into a vial, and into one of the many machines on his workbench, before discarding the machete into a corner.
“There’s no guarantee of this, but there is a non-zero chance that this spirit is working with Cipher. We can’t take any chances that he could get his hands on the rift.”
Dipper frowned, unable to picture Danny, worn and looking more exhausted than Dipper did after two all-nighters, working with someone like Bill Cipher. But he knew how manipulative Bill could be, the chance was non-zero. Danny looked like he’d do it for a decent sleep.
“Fine… I… I don’t like this. But, fine,” Dipper gave in.
The machine beeped, and Ford connected a different, handheld device to it.
“But… how are we even supposed to catch something like that?” Dipper asked.
Ford gave a confident smile, pulling the handheld device off the other after it gave a small ‘beep’, showing it off. “This device will allow us to track it based on its unique energy signature,” Ford explained. “From there, trapping it shouldn’t be too difficult, especially since we have some leftover unicorn hair from Mabel.”
Dipper swallowed the uncomfortable feeling in the back of his throat, before putting on a nervous, tense smile.
“I guess we’ve got a ghost to catch, then.”
Danny Fenton had not expected to encounter ghost hunters in nowhere, Oregon. In fact, he had run as far as he practically could to and from any and all locations that could potentially have ghost hunters. Gravity Falls, as odd as it was, was supposed to be safe. It was only be coincidence that it had just enough ambient ectoplasm in the air to keep him going. The veil was worn thin here.
Gravity Falls was supposed to be safe, and it had been, Danny supposed, for all of 2 months. He had only managed to get the nightshift at the only gas station in town because no one else had wanted it, too scared of whatever metaphorically haunted the night. Sure, the gnomes were weird but they were paying customers, and he had to occasionally chase Old Mac Mcgucket out from under the dumpster, but this was the closest to normalcy Danny had experienced since getting chased from Amity Park. Gravity Falls was just weird enough that Danny was able to fly under the radar.
There were also the kids. Mabel and her gang of girls who dragged her twin brother around. Then the group of teens (who were not always paying customers, unlike the gnomes, but Danny was not a snitch), but he didn’t have any problems. At least not until the brother had decided he was a vampire charming his sister. He had thought the kid had been joking, and Danny had laughed him off, claiming girls were just ‘like that’ sometimes. (Danny did not want to think about Paulina’s Phantom Phan Club and their treatment of him anytime soon). The kid was apparently serious enough to find someone who believed him, and Danny’s cover was blown clear out of the water.
The silver was expected, the machete and the solid iron cross were not. Danny didn’t know he reacted to solid iron until it burned him, and that old man tried to lop his head off. He was lucky that the camera’s in the store were dummies, otherwise Danny wouldn’t be surprised if the GIW made a grand appearance. No one other than the kid and the old man had seen him use his powers. He hadn’t expected them to actually be competent vampire hunters.
Danny had fled back to the old hunting shack he’d been staying in. No one had been there in years before Danny had decided to haunt the place, so he’d figured it would be safe enough. He clutched at the cut on the side of his neck, forcing whatever energy he could spare towards healing it with gritted teeth. That old man had tried to kill him, full and in earnest.
After two months of being a normal human being, Danny had forgotten just how much a look like that hurt him. But at least it was from a stranger this time (even if he was vaguely familiar). It was worse when it had been someone he knew. It was worse when he knew they intended to draw out his suffering for the crime of his existence. The old man was practically merciful in that regard. But merciful or not in comparison, he had still tried to kill Danny. He probably couldn’t go back to work then.
Danny started the process of packing, fitting the few belongings, some newer than others into his backpack when the hairs along his neck raised. It was nothing compared to his ghost sense, but Danny knew better than to ignore any sense of danger he could. He dropped his things and clicked off the battery powered camping light he used to light the space. He locked the door and closed the curtains in the same second, hunkering down, pushing his hearing as hard as he could to hear whatever was approaching the cabin, fingers crossed it was just the multi headed-bear again.
There were voices, very quiet, and Danny couldn’t pick up what they were saying from so far away, but there were two of them, one old and the other young. Danny hunched even deeper into the corner cabin, as far from the windows as he could. It was likely the same pair from the store. Danny didn’t think they could find him this quickly. It had been, what, maybe a few hours at most? They must’ve found a way to track him. Images of all of his parent’s ghost tracking devices came to mind. He hoped, with all he had, that they hadn’t gotten one from his parents. Either way, he would have to run, run far and fast as he could to get out range of the tracker, and mark another location off as uninhabitable.
Danny gathered what energy he had to spare, letting it buzz just underneath his skin, and finished tossing the absolute necessities into his bag before transforming and launching himself into the air.
Danny collided hard with what he had almost assumed was the wall of the cabin. He blinked the spots and stars out of his vision, feeling a tingling, pins-and-needles sensation burn over his skin. He was still about half a foot from the wall, he hadn’t run into it. Danny slowly reached out to touch the wall, and was met with a shimmering barrier several inches from the wall, sending pins and needles at contact. He pushed against it, sending more sparks over his skin, until the sensation became painful and repulsed him away.
Danny painted against the threadbare carpet, more panic building under his skin, joining the burning of his ectoplasm. Danny traced the barrier, hoping for a hole. It curved around the single room of the cabin in a lopsided circle, leaving only the path the door free from obstruction. That wasn’t an option. Danny watched the barrier cautiously. It wasn’t ectoplasmic in nature, he would’ve had a much stronger reaction to running into it if it was but… it moved, shocking him in the process, pulling in tighter, still leaving the door as the only exit.
Danny cursed a vile string of words across a smattering of languages, living and dead. They weren’t going to give him a choice, they intended to drag him out, slowly tightening their noose of a barrier until he was forced outside. Danny hissed at the invisible barrier, before taking a steadying breath, and becoming human again to try his typical escape tactic. It wasn’t one of his parents' barriers, he should be able to get out like- it zapped him again. Danny couldn’t get out. He was going to die here.
Danny screamed, desperation, frustration, and fear spilling from him all at once.
Dipper’s knee’s almost buckled at the sound of whatever was screeching inside. The whole cabin shook with the force and power behind it, shattering the remaining glass in the windows. Dipper did his very best to swallow his fear, looking towards Grunkle Ford for reassurance.
Ford had something between a grimace and a grin on his face. “Looks like we made it mad.”
Ford continued pulling in the end of the rope that he had Dipper run around the cabin. He had said it was some kind of unicorn-hair laced rope, completely slipping through anything non-magical, and only snagging the supernatural. It also made a decent portable, if makeshift barrier as well. He had hammered the end of it, tied up in a slip knot in the end, slowly pulling the rope in. Dipper stayed carefully behind Ford as the barrier closed in.
Dipper jumped when the door to the cabin creaked open, but nothing seemed to be there. Ford just continued to pull the rope in, eyes not leaving the space just above the rope.
Ford dropped the rope standing further back from their oblong barrier, which now had less than two yards of diameter inside.
“We can wait here all night, you’re not going anywhere. Might as well show yourself,” Ford growled.
A figure flickered into visibility, vaguely reminding Dipper the ghosts haunting the only convenience store, and the ones from Pacifica’s party. It was Danny from the convenience store, looking several times more exhausted than he had earlier that night, with burns up and down his arms. His eyes blazed that same bright green that Dipper had only managed a glimpse of in the store. He was curled into himself, glaring at the rope, sharp teeth bared. His eyes seemed to linger on their tracker, glazing over Dipper, before settling venomously on Ford. Something in Dipper’s mind couldn’t seem to connect the earlier shriek to the person… to the spirit in front of him.
“Well?” Danny rasped out. “You’ve managed to drag me out. What now?”
“Release the boy you’re possessing, spirit,” Ford demanded.
Dipper held his breath as something in Danny’s expression shifted, mouth closing into a frown.
“I can’t do that.”
“Why not?!”
Danny did not break eye contact with Ford, and Dipper was grateful to be ignored.
“I’m not possessing anybody. This is my own body.”
“If that was true, then you would’ve dissipated a long time ago, spirit. Your kind can’t stay on this plane very long,” Ford argued.
Danny huffed. “Know something about ghosts, don’t you? Normally you’re right, but not in this case. I’m as physical as you are. This has been my body since the day I was born.”
Dipper glazed up at Ford, finding his brows knit together. “That’s impossible. You’d either have to be possessing your own corpse or-”
“Of not fully dead. Bingo,” Danny confirmed blandly.
“That’s impossible,” Ford denied.
“Impossible things happen sometimes.”
Dipper was actually able to see the resignation on Danny’s face, and his own guilt resurfaced. Ford was beginning to look conflicted too. He had wanted to end the ghost because he was a threat, and could possibly leave people hurt.
“That depends, spirit.”
Danny’s gaze actually landed on Dipper, recognition filling the other’s gaze before drifting away.
“Depends on what?”
“First, what are your intentions here in Gravity Falls?”
“Nothing, really,” Danny seemed to respond earnestly. “I don’t want any trouble, just to lay low for a bit.”
Ford’s eyes narrowed. “What reason could a spirit have to stay low?”
Danny looked away. “Are you familiar with the GIW?”
The name caught in Dipper’s ears, completely unfamiliar.
“They’re government goons. A bunch of idiots chasing things far above their understanding.” Apparently not unfamiliar to Grunkle Ford.
“And what do you think they would do to someone like me, who they believe is completely non-sentient, nothing more than an echo of consciousness over energy?” Danny asked back.
Something about how Danny described spirits and ghosts didn’t sit right with Dipper. A good collection of the monsters were sentient, and Dipper couldn’t imagine how people could see someone like Danny and claim he wasn’t.
“Running from the government,” Ford huffed. “A lackluster reason. Fine,” Ford practically spat the admission. “Then secondly, how are you possibly getting enough energy to stay here? Your kind need massive amounts of energy, just to stay physical.”
Danny crossed his arms. “Eating food. You know, like a person. Other than that, the veil is thin here. There’s enough ambient energy that I’m doing just fine.”
‘The veil is thin here’? Dipper wondered if it was due to the portal. From the look on Ford’s face, probably.
“You haven’t been feeding off of anyone?”
Danny just look straight up confused this time. “No, I thought we already cleared the ‘vampire’ charges?”
Ford looked a bit miffed at that response, and Dipper was beginning to let relief fill him. Danny really wasn’t hurting anyone but…
“Lastly, are you working with, for, or alongside the dimensional being known as Bill Cipher?”
Dipper could see genuine confusion on Danny’s face, more so than the ‘feeding’ question. “No… no. I have no idea who that is.”
“None at all?” Ford pushed.
“None,” Danny confirmed, crossing his arms.
Things fell silent then, Danny staring at them, while Ford seemed to try and fit things together.
“So, what are you going to do now? Still going to take my head off with your machete?” Danny asked.
“Machetes don’t work on spirits,” Ford retorted back.
“Okay… your point?”
Dipper suddenly had an idea, probably not a good one, but, “Hey Grunkle Ford?” Dipper tugged on Ford’s sleeve to get his attention.
“What if we enlist Danny’s help against Bill… or something like that? Some kind of, um… agreement so he can’t hurt anyone, but we could also use his help? Aren’t spirits really strong?” Dipper whispered.
Ford frowned, leaning down towards Dipper so Danny couldn't hear, “It's… not a terrible idea. He would be bound by it under the right circumstances, but those things are tricky.”
“We would have to make one with as few holes as possible. Even then… Danny doesn’t seem the type to try and twist the deal. Mabel and I have interacted with in him plenty of times before, and he always seemed… kinda nice. Wendy and the older teens like him too. I just…” Dipper trailed off.
Ford sighed. “If we’re doing this, then we’re doing it right. He can’t do anything from inside the circle, and I’m not letting him out without some assurance. He’s definitely a threat, but you’re onto something to get him to help us against Cipher…”
Ford leveled a hard, stern look at Dipper. “This is your idea, so you’ll have to take responsibility for it, got it Dipper? We have no idea how strong this particular spirit is, so your deal has to be airtight. Can I leave that to you?”
Dipper gave a resolute nod. “Yes, Grunkle Ford.”
“Then I’m going to get the necessary items out of the car. Work out your deal.”
Dipper nodded, and watched as Ford shot a glance behind himself, leaving Dipper alone with Danny.
“Is the old man going to get a non-machete weapon to take off my head with?” Danny joked without an inch of humor.
“Oh…uh…no. I… I don’t think so,” Dipper hesitantly answered.
“Okay,” Danny seemed just as uncertain as Dipper felt.
Dipper took a deep breath, solidifying his will for this. He could do this. He had delt with more terrifying things this summer already.
“Danny,” Dipper started, fully gaining the spirit’s attention, who seemed shocked at his own name being spoken, like he hadn’t expected to be addressed by name at all.
“I want to make a deal with you.”

your drawings are always so delightful to see while scrolling my dash, and i love the worldbuilding/backstory you have for your characters!!
but i've recently ruined myself when i look at any art of Machete (affectionate) because all i can think in my head is "boy why you so Ears and Catholic Trauma" whenever i see him and it makes me absolutely lose it every time.

Against the Odds
Pairing : Jason Todd x FTM Reader Tags: Established Relationship , Hurt/comfort Word count : 963 Y/n: Your name L/n: your last name
The sound of rubble crashing against the cold pavement echoed through the abandoned warehouse, mingling with the staccato bang of gunfire reverberating off the walls. The air was thick with tension—a tension that Jason Todd felt settling in the pit of his stomach as he confronted yet another wave of Gotham's scum.
He swung his fists, the brass knuckles cutting through the air with purpose as he engaged two men at once. His heart raced, not just from the adrenaline of the fight but from the growing concern gnawing at him.
The plan had been simple: take them out before they could regroup. But chaos was ever-present in Gotham, and now it seemed the odds were stacked against them. He cursed under his breath, the echo of gunfire getting closer. He could hear Y/N voice in his head, reminding him to stay focused, to stay alive.
“Jason!” shouted a voice distorted by the mask he wore. It was Y/N , dashing forward with his own weapon drawn, targeting a thug who was creeping up behind him with a knife glinting precariously in the pale light.
Without thinking, Y/N threw himself into his line of fire—literally. He hurled a smoke bomb at the thug, obscuring the view and giving Jason precious seconds. He took advantage, pivoting swiftly and knocking the man out cold.
But before he could turn to Y/N—a heartbeat was all it took—another thug lunged from the shadows, a machete aimed right for Y/N back.
“Y/N, look out!” He yelled, his voice a mixture of fear and fury as he lunged toward Y/N . His heart froze as he witnessed time slow down, his body reacting on instinct as he thrust himself in front of Y/N.
The blade sliced across his side, sharp pain igniting like fire. He stumbled back, a grunt escaping his lips as he felt the heat of the blood seeping from the wound, pooling in the fabric of his suit.
“No!” Y/N shouted, His eyes wild with concern . Y/N pushed Jason aside gently, forcing him out of the way as He turned to face the attacker, adrenaline morphing his worry into raw determination. He stepped up, firing his weapon at the man with a steady hand, breathing out a sigh of relief as he went down.
But Jason was still reeling from the pain, leaning against a jagged wall to keep himself upright. “Hey, Y/N,” he rasped, trying to maintain a façade of toughness. “I’m fine.” But he was anything but fine; the world around him tilted as the adrenaline began to wear off.
Y/N was by his side in an instant, concern etched on his face as he looked him over. “You’re bleeding, Jay.” The softness in his voice was a balm to his fraying nerves.
“You should have been more careful,”Jason murmured, feeling a surge of guilt. “I should have protected you.”
Y/N shook his head fervently. “You can’t keep thinking that way. We’re in this together. I don’t want to lose you.”
For a moment, the battle around you faded into the background—a silence enveloping their little pocket of the world. He looked into Y/N eyes, seeing the warmth and concern and fierce love there. Y/N were everything to him, and the thought of losing him terrified Jason more than any fight he’d ever faced.
“Let’s get you patched up,” Y/N insisted, taking his arm to guide him out of the fray. Jason could feel the warmth of his hand, a soothing contrast to the turmoil inside him.
As Y/N moved, Jason stumbled, and he tightened his grip. “No. I’m not letting you go. You’re safe with me,” He promised, Y/N’s voice steady even as his resolve began to crack under the weight of the situation.
With each step, Y/N fought through the shadows of the warehouse, eventually making Their way outside into the cool night air. The chaotic rhythm of battle dimmed behind them, replaced by the distant sounds of sirens signalling reinforcement.
Once outside, Y/N found a quieter corner where Jason leaned back against the wall, panting as he crouched beside him, hands moving deftly to check the wound.
“It’s not deep,”Y/N said, trying to keep the worry out of his voice, “You’ll be okay. Just breathe.”
Jason’s gaze softened as he watched him, His brow furrowed in concentration. “You’re incredible, you know that?” he whispered, a small, pained smile creeping onto his lips.
“I could say the same about you, but let’s save the flattery for later. Focus on the wound,” Y/N replied, trying to shift the mood.
Jason followed his command, closing his eyes and focusing on his breath, but inwardly, he couldn’t shake the fear of what had almost happened. “I couldn’t—what if I’d lost you tonight?” he confessed, voice thick.
Y/N paused, the cool night air wrapping around them both, heavy with unspoken words. “You didn’t. I’m right here, and I won’t let anything happen to you. Not now, not ever,” Y/N promised, leaning closer, his hand cradling Jason’s cheek gently.
His eyes met Y/N, vulnerable and tender. “I’m so glad you’re on my side,” he said softly, his thumb brushing against the other man’s wrist.
"And I’m glad you're mine," Y/N responded, squeezing Jason’s hand, as if his warmth could pass into Jason and stitch the ripped fabric of his worries.
“Next time, let me do the saving,” he joked weakly but there was a lightness now. They both knew the night was far from over, but as long as they were side by side it would be fine.

"Nope! Nice try, but I was legitimately just teasing her. I put a disclaimer on it and everything. You can't put this one on me boss. I'm not the one that just tried to weaponize it. But since you did decide to be a dick about it, I' think I will go check up on 'er."
Coffee Man || strawberry-barista:
“I know she’s tough, but give her a goddamn break. Her soul literally just finished healing from some'a that hardship, and she was absolutely fuckin’ eviscerated twice in a row, back to fucking back. So so help me god, if I catch you doing something that would make her do anything to make her think she’s not good for us I will not stop until I’ve thoroughly punished you. Got it? I’m not letting it happen again.”
“I dunno who you are, Coffee Man; but like I said, I know what I’m doing. I hate her guts, but I’m not about to actively antagonize her. I was just followin’ your lead. You were the one to bring up the fact that she went for your throat like that, after all.” She cant help bringing a hand through her hair. “That information’s just gonna stay tucked here with me with everything else I learn ‘bout folks and when it comes in handy, it’ll come in handy.”
“If you’re that worried about it affecting her growth, I’d go talk to your kid. Cause this one’s on you, ‘Pops.’ You’re the one who took things down this road and it sounds like you both have a lotta growin’ to do yet. Individually and with your relationship.”

close to home | chapter five
close to home | chapter five
plot: Daryl and the reader experience a bit of trouble on the road before arriving at the prison, where the reader gets quite a surprise
series masterlist
Pairing: Eventual Daryl Dixon x f!reader Word Count: 1,881 Warnings: violence, blood A/N: thanks for reading!
It was silent as you and Daryl drove through the old deserted neighborhood. The sun was steadily rising, and it was already warm; the day would be warmer than usual, and you wanted to die at the thought. You’d already moved your hair into a ponytail, and sweat was sticking your shirt under your arms.
You directed him to get onto the northbound extension and were soon flying down the road. The wind whipped around your hair, and every so often, you looked back to check on Tora. You wouldn’t hear her meowing over the wind, but you knew she was. You chuckled as you turned around, lifting your feet on the dash.
“What?” Daryl asked you.
“Nothing, it’s just been a really weird twenty-four hours.” You said, looking up at the clear blue sky. There was no sign of the storm last night.
Five minutes later, though, you believe that thought jinxed you. Half burnt from a lightning strike, a huge pine tree lay across the double-lane highway. Pine needles and debris from the storm covered the asphalt. You sighed loudly and unstrapped. “I don’t think we can move this ourselves,”
Daryl gave you a look that told you he didn’t get your sarcasm again and moved to get out of the car.
“Damn guard rails won’t let us drive on the grass,” He swore, spitting onto the ground.
“We can double back to the past exit,” You said, jumping down and walking towards the tree. “Poor guy,” You looked sadly at it.
“Poor us,” Daryl corrected you.
You rolled your eyes and were about to say something when those familiar groans caused your stomach to drop. You went to grab your machete, but you’d stupidly left it in the car.
“Your four o’clock!” Daryl yelled.
You turned around and saw about half a dozen dead ones roaming out of the forest. “Ah, shit,” You cursed, looking around for any weapon. There was a branch the size of your forearm on the right, and you grabbed it just as one of the dead ones reached you. You quickly dodged it, hitting the back of its knee with the branch and then ramming it into its head. When it dropped dead, you saw Daryl handling three alone and another two headed toward you.
You barely had time to react to the second dead one dropping to the ground, half its brain missing and dead on the ground, when the other one slammed right into you. Your head hit the ground with a smack as you held off the dead one with your forearm.
“(Y/N)!”
The branch had been knocked away, and you reached for it a few times before accepting that it was out of your reach. You groaned loudly and struggled against its strong arms. When it was alive, he must’ve towered over six feet.
“Daryl!” You yelled.
“I got ya,”
The head was pulled back, and a knife went through its skull. Blood dripped down on your face, and you winced, trying desperately to pull yourself out from underneath the heavy, decaying body.
Tora’s high-pitched wail caught your attention, and you looked up to see a walker bending into the car, reaching for the carrier.
“No!’ You screamed loudly, running towards the dead one. You collided with it and went flying down. With its attention on you, you quickly pinned down its arms with your legs and grabbed its head, pulling as hard as you could. With a sickening crunch, its head came clear off and went flying in the opposite direction.
With the body not a threat, you moved toward the car to check the carrier, which was completely undisturbed. You sighed with relief and then noticed the blood coating your hands. When you turned around, Daryl was staring at you.
“That was close,” You said, reaching into one of the bags to grab a water bottle and two of the only towels you have. After quickly washing away your face and hands, you handed the towel to Daryl, but he shook his head.
“Gotta hit the road,”
***
Turning back around added another twenty minutes onto your trip, but you quickly started to recognize where you were. Your stomach tightened in nervousness, and you picked at the dried blood in your fingernails.
Daryl seemed to pick up on your anxiety. “Don’ gotta worry. They’ll be cool with ya, might have to feel ya out first but it’ll be good. We need more people to help. We got a man who got bit the day before last. He might not wake up. We need more.”
You nodded but didn’t say anything. The sun was now high in the sky, beating down on you. Sweat was dripping on the bridge of your nose. The wind helped, but it was like blowing hot air on you.
“I trust you, Daryl,” You finally said, “It’s the others I’m worried about….” He nodded but didn’t say anything. “Next exit. You’ll probably know how to get there from here.”
You were right; once off the exit, Daryl knew how to return. Your stomach twisted in more anxiety, and you felt like you were going to throw up. As the prison tower came into view between the trees, you wanted, more than anything, to turn around and go back to the treehouse. But that was well over twenty miles away, and you and Tora nearly died getting here.
The gates appeared, and Daryl honked the horn a few times. You saw a kid at the gate who hesitated briefly before opening them up. Daryl slowed the car to a stop and glanced at you. “Be aight,”
You said nothing before slowly getting out of the car and looking at the kid. His gun was locked and loaded, but it wasn’t raised.
“Who’s this?”
“Your father back? Glenn and Maggie?” Daryl asked.
The kid hesitated briefly before nodding, “Got back early this morning. They are getting ready to go out looking for you. Who is this?”
“I’ll look the gates up. Go get your dad for me.” Daryl said.
The kid tossed Daryl the keys and eyed you carefully before taking off up the hill and toward the prison. You swallowed thickly and went to check on Tora in the back. She must be getting warm with the hot sun on her in the carrier. “I know, baby. I’m sorry.” You softly cooed to her.
A sudden commotion at the gate caused you to freeze, and you heard a few people yelling. You turned around to see guns raised at you. You took a step forward to block the carrier with your body.
“Aight, aight, everybod’ calm down,” Daryl said, moving to stand in front of you and the man with the gun. “Rick, this is (Y/N). She was in the town when we lit that fire, scavenging for supplies like us. Probably woulda run into her too. I saw her runnin’ out and thought she was you from a distance. We got pushed further and further away, damn walkers were everywhere,”
Rick didn’t say anything as he stared at you, clicking the gun. “Why’d you bring her back, Daryl? You know what we gotta do.”
“Nah, not this time,” Daryl said, “She saved my life. She helped me. She a good person, Rick. She got supplies, medicine, man,l and she got food. She was gonn’ be a doctor before.”
You leaned against the car, watching two other guys with guns. They were following Rick’s lead. You looked back at Rick, who was still staring at you.
“This was her car. Her supplies. She brought me back,” Daryl said, lifting his hand to lower Rick’s weapon. “She’s aight, I wouldn’t bring her back if I didn’ think so.”
“Glenn?”
Everyone’s attention turned back toward the woman walking down the dirt hill. A rifle was squared on her shoulder, but when she saw you, her steps stilled. “(Y/N)?
Your eyes widened as you realized who was standing there. Your mouth opened but no words came out. Hot tears pricked your version and you wanted to take a step forward but there were too many guns on you. “Maggie.”
Maggie dropped her rifle and ran past Glenn and Rick, throwing her body onto yours and hugging you tightly. Her body shook with sobs, and your wall of anxiety fell, and you wrapped yours around hers.
“Can someone please tell me what’s going on here?” Rick said impatiently.
But you and Maggie ignored him, and she pulled away, looking at your tear-soaked face, and grabbed your shoulders. “I tried to call you guys a million times. Atlanta fell so quickly, and I couldn’t… I didn’t know how to… I thought you were…”
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” You said, “I did too,” You pulled her in for another hug before your eyes widened, and you looked back. “Beth, Uncle Hershel, Annette…” Your voice trailed off.
“The farm was overrun. Beth and Dad are here. We’re the only ones. What about you? Liam?”
Your eyes dropped, and you shook your head, “He died saving me, Mags,” You cried, “We were cornered. I couldn’t get to him… he got torn apart right in front of me,”
Maggie immediately wrapped her arms around you and tried to shush your sobs. “It’s okay, it’s okay. You’re here now.”
You took a deep breath, and it felt like you were alive again for the first time. Like you weren’t some animatronic that did all of its daily tasks because you were designed to, not because you wanted to.
“Maggie,”
At the sound of her name, Maggie took a step back and looked toward her family. “This is my cousin (Y/N). Her dad is the older brother of mine. She’s family. Lower your weapons.”
There was a bit of hesitation, but they finally did. With the commotion mostly over, Tora made her presence known and meowed loudly, demanding to be let out.
“Oh my God,” Maggie laughed, “Of course you got the cat.”
“Damn near died for it today, too,” Daryl said, the first to intrude on you and your cousin’s conversation. “It’s a good cat. Knows how to hunt.”
Rick approached the car and looked around skeptically, unsure what to think. He poked and prodded through a few things before opening a box with the baby supplies you’d brought. He pulled out a onesie and looked at you.
“Daryl told me you got a baby comin’,” You said, “I can’t imagine it’s easy finding stuff like that. I wanted to make sure I had a piece offering,”
Rick stared at you briefly before turning to Daryl and nodding once. “Let’s get these supplies inside. I’d like to hear more about how you and Daryl met if that’s alright with you,”
“Rick, she’s family,” Maggie said, “We grew up together, I trust her.”
“It’s okay,” You said, glancing between them. “I’ll answer anything you want to know. After I see my cousin and uncle.”
